I will take that over elite speed, quick release and upside any day. Its not like Bridgewater doesnt have upside, but just drafting a guy due to better upside gets you fired, see Blaine Gabbert.

I think we've reached the end of the draft guru period of influence. 

 

Teams used to cave into the large amounts of unfair and inappropriate pressure being placed upon them by so called experts, who frequently are actually not much more than good old fashioned ten in one freak show type shills being paid by sports agents. 

 

We need to continue to build our roster. You don't do that by drafting needs. You do that by drafting the best player you can with each and ever pick regardless of what position is involved. You have to load your roster with the best period. Keep loading your roster with the best players available regardless of position and the apparent needs disappear.

 

Neither Bridgewater nor Mariota is playing like a guy who wants to be drafted at the very top of the 2014 NFL Draft.
