Quote:I watched As I Lay Dying last night. John Franco wrote the screenplay, directed and acted in this faithful adaptation of the classic William Faulkner novel. Very enjoyable movie. Not a blockbuster, but satisfying in its own way. I've read it but I have a hard time staying on track with Faulkner's prose. I find myself rereading passages to get their meaning. I love the opening of the book as he describes the brothers walking different paths across a tract of land. Very subtle but hilarious. Hopefully that's in the movie. I'll have to watch it. |
