I think there are plenty of professional athletes who have trouble listening to anyone.  Do you think all coaches automatically get the same level of respect from the players? Wouldn't you expect the opinions and instructions of coaches (and GM's and owners) who've played the game, especially at the NFL level, to be somewhat better received, than those of coaches who have not.

 

We're not necessarily talking about a player getting out of line, just about how receptive they are to her "instructions".

 

Nobody is demeaning her, they're just pointing out the additional difficulties she will face.
