Could the Jaguars trade Scobee? Ryan O thinks so. (Scobee Traded to steelers)

Quote:That's the thing. We don't have the upper hand on this. Teams trade because it guarantees they get the player they want... especially when we're only talking a late round pick. The Steelers may know we are going to cut one, but what keeps Tampa from claiming them off the waiver wire? A late round trade does the trick. The real problem is that kickers are really a dime a dozen. You aren't going to find a kicker like Scobee on waivers most times, but you can find an accurate guy that can get it in from 45 yards pretty consistently. The question is really is it worth it to lose a late round pick for that extra leg. For Scobee, I'd take the risk. He's got a proven track record, for the most part, especially when the game is on the line. For Myers, I'd pass. There's not any evidence he can perform under pressure. If I had to choose, I'd stick with Scobee. However, if you're gonna go with someone new, this year is a great one to do it. We are expected to have a bad record, and the young guy can work on his nerves. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
