I think Myers is more likely to be traded. He's subject to waivers, and he's dirt cheap as an undrafted first-year player. If a team late in the order really likes Myers, the only way to guarantee his addition is to cough up a seven.

 

Scobee, on the other hand, is more expensive (even at vet minimum), and is not subject to waivers. The Steelers, for example, could just call him 30 seconds after he's released and write him a check.

 

I still think the team is more likely to part with Myers. Scobee has at least several good years left, and there's a level of confidence in him--especially with the improved blocking--that you don't have with Myers.

 

If Myers does clear waivers, this might be one of those rare situations where a team keeps a developmental kicker on the practice squad. If Scobee does struggle this season, the Jags could potentially have a much more pro-seasoned Myers ready to be the front-runner in camp next year.
