Once he looked up, that's when Tate gained that extra separation that led to the TD.

 

Colvin will be fine, especially once he gets a pass rush in front of him.

 

   This is how I viewed the play as well.   From a Lions perspective,  I was very pleased with the execution.  Especially,  considering that Aaron Colvin's coverage probably would have been good enough against most opponents.  

 

   While it was a difficult play for Aaron Colvin to defend,  it's a good teaching tool for the Jags coaches to use with Colvin and the team's other CBs.   It's certainly much better for the Jags that the play occurred in the pre-season instead of when the games count in the standings.
