lots of presure on gus,and Jags this year

Quote:I said 2 years of trash is fine. Gene Smith left us in really bad shape. However, we should atleast after 3 years of rebuild be at a minimum 8-8. We don't have Gabbert, we have Bortles. We don't have Mike Thomas, we have Hurns/AR15. We have a competent team now, I'm done with excuses now. It's time to win. Bortles is going to be REALLY good, and if Gus can't muster up some wins this year, he's not the guy. He's wasting our time.I really like your optimism about Bortles being 'really good'. I really hope you're correct; however, I'm really wondering what are you basing this optimism about Bortles on? His statistics? He was statistically the worst quarterback last season, really, so it can't be that. Perhaps you're basing your optimism on what we've seen from him in preseason games. There are two problems with this really; (1) we saw him look impressive at times last season during the preseason, and we all saw how grand that season ended, and (2) really... take a deep breath and repeat to yourself... 'it's just the p r e s e a s o n'! Gabbert looked really impressive at times in the preseason. Here's hoping that we can, at the very least, make it to 6-10, and that we will do much better than that! Here's hoping that Bortles is much better than his current stats indicate. Here's hoping that our o-line actually is better which will help Bortles look better. Here's hoping that our receivers don't develop a bad case of the drops like we witnessed happening during the preseason. Here's hoping that we don't witness more ridiculously 'bad angles' being taken by our defenders. Here's hoping that we're a better team this season than we were last season... and not just an older one. Here's hoping that we just win baby! |
