Point: positives

1. we have one of the 'softer' schedules this season than we've had in a while.

2. we are more experienced.

3. we have upgraded our o-line (at least the right side of it anyway...)

4. Bortles has worked hard this off season to improve his throwing mechanics which should translate to better performance.

5. much of the detritus that was polluting our roster last season is no longer wearing a jaguars uniform; not all, but much of it.

6. we've got (ostensibly) better assistant coaches than we had last season... we hope.

 

Point: negatives

1. we have injuries to key players at key positions (Fowler, Marks, Thomas)

2. Poz isn't getting any faster or stronger

3. it was only the preseason, but we saw virtually no pressure put on any quarterback, certainly not against any starters.

4. we're still seeing inconsistent play from Joeckel, at times actually getting knocked on his tail. Not good news coming from the blind side.

5. our secondary is questionable... actually, so is our d-line now too.

6. 'sweeping' anyone this season is not an automatic 'gimme'.
