I'll just say that I personally think there are very few things you are prohibited from doing due to being white. There are infinitely more things you are prohibited from doing for being male. Your occupational environment is among them.

 

So while I don't personally disagree with your point, it does not invalidate white male privilege either when you put that against the privileges of everyone else (imo).

 

Scholarships/grants are a couple examples. Maybe "can't do" isn't the right phrasing, because (like you said) there sometimes ways around things.

 

It most definitely does not invalidate the concerns for social injustice against everyone else. I think that social injustice against minorities and women deserve the attention they get. My point is that just because white males are the most privileged demographic doesn't mean that white males are free of all social injustices. The problem is that when a white male points out a double standard or social issue that negatively affects them, they are often mocked for it and/or trivialized.

 

I mean, in this very thread, I brought up a double standard in my profession and within a couple posts I'm mocked by someone asking "Or did you just want to say you work with lady parts?". No, I wanted to point out a double standard in my profession that negatively affects me and I'd appreciate it not being mocked / trivialized.
