This is absolutely ridiculous. DeMarcus Ware just hit Alex Smith below the knees, a common roughing the passer penalty. Normally players don't get fined for that, which is simply a bad sack attempt, but Ware is losing $17,363 this week.
Making this fine even worse is the fact that Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright was only fined $10,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty that got him ejected from the game.
