That play not working had absolutely nothing to do with Toby.

 

And just because I have enough understanding of the game and how teams typically react in certain situations, doesn't mean I am pleased with the team and Gus. It just means I'm not going to overreact to a single play call that was actually a decent call in the situation that was poorly executed.

 

If you want to be critical of the coaches for the players not being prepared to properly execute in that situation then that would be fair criticism, but there was nothing wrong with the play call itself.

There was nothing wrong with the play call itself...except it didnt work. Like the bulk of Tobys runs. And with your great understanding of the game maybe you can explain to me, since I have no understanding of the game, why you run out our "#2" RB who has had 3 carries all year who has also been hurt all year and hasn't had a touch all game...why run him out on arguably one of the biggest plays of the game when he has cold legs? Because Yeldon was "gassed?" Then call a timeout. You have also had 4 straight quarters and 4 straight games of failure running it off center so why do it with a RB who is notorious for short runs as a Jaguar? The play was doomed from the start and even you with all your knowledge of how teams react in certain situations should have been able to see that.

 

Also please post your credentials on said knowledge. Where did you get all this experience? What position did you play in high school and college? How come you are no longer coaching? Or if you've just watched football for years please say how many! A photocopy of the notes you've taken over the seasons would be great! I am just looking to get a better understanding of how teams act in certain situations so any help you could give would be awesome! Thanks buddy!
