That says a lot about integrity, but if Marrone gets the reins after the bye week and takes the team to a 7-9 finish wouldn't finding our next coach be worth the risk of changing coaches midseason? I doubt that Marrone is the right guy to lead the team long term, but when you know that your current head coach is not that guy and you've got an experienced former HC on the payroll, why wouldn't you give the new guy a shot? So what you are saying is, "throw out the benchmark before a coach has a chance to meet or not meet the benchmark". Look at the schedule after the bye week. It is very possible to win at least 5 of those games if not more. That would meet the 6-10 expectations of many on this board. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. |
