he actually talks about Tom Coughlin after 4-7 ripping off 5 straight.  If we thought this team was going to get to 4-7 we wouldn't feel this way. 

 

I am not on the midseason firing train.  I don't know that it really helps all that much.  You need someone to coach the team the rest of the way, and firing someone the Monday after the season sends the same message. 

 

That being said, I think this team is looking 1-7 right in the face and at that point it gets hard to make a case for keeping the current regime. 

 

This offensive line has been horrible.  Blake hasn't been able to develop confidence to step up in the pocket, the RB's aren't pressing the hole with conviction.  And everyone on this line are guys that this regime Wanted!  #2 pick overall, priority FA, FA, high 3rd round pick, PRIORITY FA.  You can't blame that on Gene Smith, its not the first year of a tear down where your filling in with three undrafted rookies.  The idea that the running game is this horrible with a former head coach as the offensive line coach is pretty ridiculous.  I think the WR's can play, I think the QB is making progress but he still makes way too many errors (and im not just talking about interceptions).  We aren't good enough on defense to zoom out and see WR's streaking down the field while blake stares down guys who are double covered. 

 

Defense, lack of talent.  Guys can't win one on one.  Every now and then an average team will hit a QB's arm and get a few fluke pics every few games.  6 games in our defensive backfield has 0 interceptions and our offensive backfield has 0 rushing touchdowns.  That's pretty pathetic.
