The ones that toil in mediocrity and get those extra meaningless wins in "garbagetime" are the ones that pretty much stay right where they are at or at least don't rebound enough to actually make a serious impact.

I know we have.

 

And I am really concerned about the term "meaningless wins".  There's something soulless, gutless, and defeatist about it.  Perhaps it's because hoping for your favorite team to win is soulless, gutless, and defeatist.  And you know what else? 

 

It's un-American.
