Gibson.com’s Top Guitar Solos of All Time

#47

Quote:I was just getting ready to post a followup on my thoughts. While there are many white guitar players who attempt to emulate the blues, none can really achieve it. Eric Clapton can feel it some what, but he's obviously not the real thing. Skinny, white British boys just can't feel it. The closest a white guy has ever come to sounding real is SRV. But yes, he was only close. When it comes to the purity, soulfulness, and improvisation of the note, even SRV couldn't achieve the true blues. I love SRV and have a pretty good collection of his music, but he wasn't pure.

I always liked listening to Billy Gibbons. While he isn't classic blues along the lines of Hooker, Waters, or King, he does a great job playing the guitar. To my ears at least.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
