Big money offensive players that come to bad teams on big contracts very rarely play with any sort of pride.
I'm not saying Thomas isn't at fault, but your heart's not in it when you go from a perennial playoff team to a dumpster fire. It's different for most defensive players, especially defensive backs. You'll get 100% from any big name defensive back on the basis that they don't want to be posterized or be directly responsible for an offensive player's big day. It's way more of a big deal for a defensive player to give up a big day to an offensive player than for an offensive player to stay quiet. Thomas probably doesn't care.
