There seems to be a few issues down there.

- O-line simply has to be better. The Jags have had trouble converting short yardage plays this season. In the red zone, that problem is magnified. Obviously you can't just bull rush it up the middle every single time. But, there has to be positive running down there that can push for a couple yards and keep the run as a great option.


- Also, watching SNF this week (Pats/Broncos), Collinsworth was talking about how it is much more difficult in the red zone for a younger QB (Osweiler sp?). The field is just very condensed, and it takes a while for a young QB to really get a good handle on red zone football. Idk how much that might apply to BB? But, at times it seems it still might be an issue for him (indecisiveness).


-Play calling (this could fall on Bortles as well as the coaching). Bortles should have the ability to observe the defense and change into plays accordingly. Idk if coaching has limited him on that? But, when the coaching sends in a play that looks like the defense will be all over it , Bortles could change out of it.

Anyway, as a previous poster said, set up a play where Bortles has the option of running. BB is excellent with his legs. That's a legit weapon to utilize down there. Call some bootlegs or something. The fade passes are not working.


-But mostly, O-line. It has to get better.
