 After the Bucs lost at home to the Panthers by a wide margin on a Thursday Night last month,  I had serious doubts Greg Schiano would last as HC for another game.  What might have saved Schiano from getting fired was the Bucs next opponent was the Seahawks on the road.   A game an Interim HC couldn't realistically expect to win.

 

As it turned out,  the Bucs unexpectedly built a huge lead over the Seahawks before losing to the in OT.  That game bought Schiano another opportunity.   Since then,  the Bucs haven't lost. 

 

 It's now fair to say that Schiano could be retained in 2014.  The Bucs are winning and Mike Glennon is showing plenty of promise in the context of what Schiano is trying to build.   If the Bucs win at least 2 more games and continue to improve with Glennon at the helm,  Schiano has a good chance of being retained.   Many Bucs fans will be disturbed but the team is definitely making significant progress.  

 

One thing the Bucs will need to do in order to continue to win with regularity is cut down their penalties.   It's something that has plagued them often this season.
