Remember when people said that there were no QBs worth drafting last year? We could have had Napoleon.

Yeah, I don't know about him being better than RG3 already but I was definitely in favor of drafting Glennon. Just like I wanted us to draft Russel Wilson. NC State had 2 pretty good lookin' QB's back to back that kinda went unnoticed for whatever reason.

Oh well, hopefully we get our guy in the upcoming draft.

This is why TB wouldn't have drafted Teddy anyway. Glennon is solid and he is just a rookie.

Glennon wasn't really that good when he was at NC State

In today's Detroit Free Press,  Lions DE Willie Young talks about the difficulties of defending Mike Glennon.   Young was an NC State teammate of Glennon's during the QB's first couple of years in the program.   It's an interesting perspective of what Glennon brings to the table as an NFL QB:

fair assessment tbh.

also there has been a lot of success from qbs after the first round lately. are they becoming like rbs, in which they can be had later in the draft?

The team is still 2-9 and has only beat a team in absolute turmoil in Miami and a team reeling from injuries in Atlanta.

I would hold off on the success talk.

sure but hes been playing well for 6 games now and is consistently improving. remember hes a 3rd round rookie, thats a huge success for most of 3rd round qbs the last decade.

Being in Orlando I get to see alot of Tampa. Glennon looks good. He is accurate, makes nice throws and doesn't commit a ton of turnovers. As a rookie, this is an awesome place to start from. And seeing how he isn't running some gimmicky read option, I think his success will continue. I don't regret not having him now, because I think Teddy is better, but if he keeps improving, this might be one that hurts.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Big, big difference between QBs and RBs. A couple of early-mid round success stories is a far cry from the RB situation, wherein its debateable that the position itself is even worth a forst rounder, due to having a short lifespan and being dime a dozen/plug and play.

QBs still require an entire offense built around them for high production, and are the entire face of your offense. QB is a high value position you want to take as few risks with as possible, elevating the value of good QBs in to the higher picks. RB's, by and large are the same guy with slight variances in measurables, and can be neglected to later rounds for more important positions like o line or defensive positions, and still produce.

Incredibly different situations.

We'll at least we didn't take a punter this time.

Well he really didn't have much talent at all around him. But yeah, he wasn't at Wilson's level of play, but I still thought he would be a good QB in the NFL. Jury is still out on that obviously.

One thing that jumps out on this end is how different Russell Wilson and Mike Glennon are from a physical standpoint.  Yet,  they both ended up as QB's at NC State.

Well they got a new HC in Russel Wilson's final year of eligibility and they ended up deciding to just let him transfer because the style of offense they wanted to run, they thought, fit Glennon better. That's why Wilson ended up playing his final year of College ball at Wisconsin.

At least that's what my buddy who goes to NC State told me.

Russell Wilson's transfer to Wisconsin certainly worked out well for him and it sure looks like it's working out for Mike Glennon.

If the current regime in Tampa remains in place in 2014,   Glennon could easily be their # 1 QB.

If a new regime comes in and wants to draft a QB with a high 1st Round pick,   Glennon could end up getting traded to a team that believes he can be their long term solution.   While Glennon's lack of weight concerns me,  he seems like he has plenty of the physical and mental components needed to succeed as a starter in the NFL.

Glennon is making Tiquon "High-Top" Underwood look like a decent receiver. He has my respect.

What does it say when I say I'd draft Glennon over RG3 is a re-draft happened?

After watching Bucs games, Glennon is stupidly hard to touch in the pocket.
