Thats too long in todays NFL. Too much contract to eat if/ when things go belly up early. Jags made that mistake with JDR's extension which should have been for 3 years-max. Even Belichick only gets extensions at 3 years at a time, IIRC. 
 

Once again, you spout off about that which you know nothing.  Belichick signed a 6 year extension in 2007 that was set to expire at the end of this season.  According to reports, he'll be coaching for New England for several years to come (details haven't been released about the term or the $). 
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
