Freeman Benched For Glennon

#1

Sadly, i'd take Freeman on the Jags right now.  Can't wait to draft our savior next year!

Oof. I did not like Glennon pre-draft. Smart if they don't like Freeman.

Have to see what the rookie can do.

Freeman isn't the problem there.

What do you think the Bucs would take in a trade for Freeman? I would happily send a 3rd their way.

Edit: I forgot he's in a contract year. Though, I'd still send a 6 or 7 to not get in a bidding war.

Uh, yes he is. They have a big time WR, big time RB, one of the best O Lines in football and a good defense..

Why?????????????? Freeman is nothing but an average QB. You're not winning anything of substance with that guy. All a QB like that does is get you enough wins to make sure you avoid the very top talent in the draft, all the while still keeping you in the mediocrity zone.

See above. You are crazy. Are you trying to ruin the Jags chances of finally getting their REAL franchise QB in the draft???

Who gives a damn if we get a few extra wins to make it 5-11 instead of 2-14???? Thats hurting us more than helping us in the long run.

Both Glennon and Freeman are garbage. Tampa is a huge threat to get the #1 overall selection now.

I knew it was gonna happen this season. Hopefully Glennon can be what Freeman was supposed to for them, or at the very least win them some games. And TMD don't you think it's a bit premature to call Glennon garbage when he's thrown a whopping 0 passes in a regular season game?

Why? If a QB is garbage, he's garbage. Time isn't going to change that. I thought both Gabbert & Kolb were garbage coming out of college and they both proved to be garbage in the pro's. Glennon isn't going to be anything special in the pro's at all.

Tampa will be lucky to win 2-3 games this season. They are a serious threat to our #1 pick overall.

So according to the foolproof TMD logic, Glennon is garbage even though he hasn't thrown a pass yet? Got it.

Oh please, stop acting so pious.... You've never had opinions on players in college that followed them to the pro's?? C'mon man. Just stop.

If you thought a player wasn't all that as a college player, why would you need to give him time for it to also show up at the much more difficult next level??? I do not see Glennon being much as a pro. People make the same mistake with Glennon as they did Gabbert. They fall in love with his physical tools and ignore the rest.

Freeman has a terrible work ethic, he is lazy and the players don't respect him.  On top of that he is not good and is a loser.

So, why would we want that punk here?

All I'm saying is that to write someone off as a NFL player before they've played a meaningful snap is premature.

R1/P17 benched for R3/P73.

We better get our QB right next draft, or nothing changes.  We could very well be like the Browns and Bucs, having to draft yet another QB right after we took one.

For us that would mean three in a row.  A franchise can't survive that.

We simply must supplement any QB with draft with a FA.  We're going to have to open that checkbook.  The stakes are far too high to believe in a lotto pick.

I say send a 5th or 6th round pick to the Bucs for him.

Since 2010 Freeman has done this stat wise:

2010 - 3451 yards, 25TDs, 6 INTs

2011 - 3592 yards, 16TDs, 22INTs

2012 - 4065 yards, 27TDS, 17INts

I think he needs a change of scenery IMO. Freeman almost always has his team in games. And usually caps offs what should be the game winning drive in most cases ahem (JETS). The guy does have somewhat of a clutch gene, and he has shown good seasons on more than one occasion during his short career.

P.S. the coaches he has had around him aren't excactly great. The both make boneheaded decisions, and I honestly beleive Freeman does a great job given an O-line that could make a case that is has been worse than our own the past few seasons.

All getting Freeman does is keep this team in nowhereland - i.e. not bad enough to get the top draft talent, and not good enough to make any kind of serious superbowl run.

Yeah, thats what we need.... Rolleyes

While I'd rather us draft our own franchise signal caller, the above numbers do NOT represent a "garbage" QB.

If something happened and Bridgewater & Hundley became injured or somehow did not declare himself draft eligible, he and Clowney would not be a bad consolation prize.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

0-3 with that supporting cast, and a terrible attitude/ bad leadership does.

Go look at some of the best QBs in this league first 3 full seasons and get back at me.

Peyton Manning

Brees in San Diego

Eli Manning

Ben Rothlisberger

And there are probably more examples. I am just saying I wouldn't write the guy off. Tampa IMO has a worse organization than we do with the way things are run.

But that's not all on him.

Lots of players on that team seem to oppose Schiano.
