You are telling me that Han Solo just happens to be in this random point in the universe, where he just happens along his old ship, which happens to contain a connection to Luke Skywalker...and he then takes them to a random sage who happens to have Luke's lightsaber in storage???


I mean, you can complain about the writing in the original, but that's just egregious. What are the odds of that set of circumstances ("never tell me the odds")?


I really hope in the second one Luke explains he used the force to make all that happen. He should just be like, "come on, what are the chances that [what I typed above] wasn't orchestrated?"

Solo didn't "just happen" across his old ship, he was actively looking for it and he knew it was on or near Jakku. And going to Raz is a random choice, she's an old ally and friend who can help them reach the Rebellion. The fact she's friends with Solo also means she's likely to have been friends with Luke, hence why she has his lightsaber.
