The runner or one of the pursuers could have plowed into him and injured him severely as he wasn't even looking at the play. Maybe it's different on the replay and I'll get a look at it sometime and change my mind.
 

Tomlin was looking at the video board. He said he always does during kickoff returns. But he had to know while looking at it where his right foot was because if you watch a play on the jumbotron and the runner is near your sideline, you see the white paint that borders the field. No way does he get BOTD for that one.
