The big concern in St. Louis when Khan made his bid for the Rams was that he would move the team having no ties to the St Louis community. When Kroenke stepped in, they saw him as their knight in shining armor.


There was another group that was trying to buy the team with a plan to keep it in STL that had MO natives involved including Rush Limbaugh of all people. Their bid was shot down early on.


At the end of the day, we ended up with the right owner.

 

Can't agree with this enough. I don't think people here truely appreciate just how close we came to losing this team. Weaver was looking for a way out and we just somehow got the one guy who still believed in Jacksonville and its true potential despite the loaded garbage perception we have anywhere else. Jacksonville isn't the city people think of when Florida is brought up. Miami, Orlando, Tampa THEN jacksonville. 

 

This team is often looked at as cursed. I think Khan buying this team could be the moment everyone looks back at in 30 years as the move that turned not only the Jaguars around but possibly the city as well.
