  Yes.  Elvis Grbac was a salary cap casualty after signing a lucrative contract with the Ravens the previous winter.  One and done in Baltimore.   Grbac made the sensible decision to leave the NFL after the 2001 season instead of trying to linger on elsewhere.

 

  For sure,  the main thing for the 2000 Ravens on Offense was not to turn over the ball.   In last night's Super Bowl after Peyton Manning's fumble that led to the FG that cut the score to 16-10,  the Broncos followed the same strategy except on the 3rd Down pass in which Defensive Holding was called in the End Zone.   As it turned out,  Jared Allen came close to getting to Peyton Manning on that play.    A fumble and even worse a fumble returned for a TD by the Panthers would have been talked about even more than the Seahawks decision to throw in the final minute of regulation time in the previous Super Bowl.
