I think Caldwell stated it perfectly. You want to find that fine line of quality and value and honestly hes proven to me he can do it. The more I think about it I feel he will get Irvin but im not sure were gonna get Vernon. I can fully see a team like the giants giving him like 18 mil and Dave wont give that kind of money away. And im completly fine with that.


I think he will identify guys who fit the scheme and bring in a lot of value guys. That is smart although thats not exactly what people wanna hear. Stick to the draft and add value peices in FA.



Really if he adds Irvin and a guy like Mike Neal that would give us great pass rush rotation with Fowler. A good mix of youth and veteran presence. Our oldest pass rusher would be 28. Thats a good spot to be in. Add McLeod for like 7 mil and you have really upgraded your defense without braking the bank.


Then wait a few weeks and sign cheaper guys who are still young but fit the scheme. Try to find the next Marks. Then you still have 8 draft picks. Caldwell wants to make the right decisions not just do something for the sake of it and I really respect that.
