If there is someone that they value that happens to fall in the draft I have no doubt Dave is willing to trade up to get him.

Couple of points.

 

1.  There is still about a month left until the draft and a lot can happen.  But as it stands now, I don't think this team has a lot of ammo to move up back into the bottom of the first round without likely giving up a pick or picks in the future, including a future #1.  Teams have done that sort of thing before, and given the win now or else mandate, it wouldn't be a total shock to see this happening here.  But understand we're talking moving up a minimum of 7 picks.

 

2.  I could see a move up into the bottom of the 2nd as more likely because the cost is cheaper, and this team has proven under Shack and Caldwell it's willing and able to move up in this round whether they have a ton of later picks or not.

 

I think if there is a guy the team wants in the mid-late first round, that Caldwell has a strong conviction about, I'd want him to go after him, but I think Jaguars fans should be prepared for the team to give up a future #1 if we are talking Lawson or a similar caliber prospect.
