Winning is important.  And with the continued improvement, the wins are going to come.  To say this team is a playoff contender right now is simply putting the car before the horse.  A lot of things will have to happen for that to be the case.

I think it's too early to know for certain what this team is going to do in 2016.  I'm not saying they're a long shot.  I'm saying that there's a lot of work left to be done before we can make any such determination.  The hope is that they will be competing for a playoff spot this year.  if that's the case, how the team starts the season will be completely irrelevant.  It's how it finishes the season that matters.  So, if they start 0-4, that is not a certain measuring stick to decide Gus' fate. 

 

As I ALSO said, I don't expect this team to be winless after 4 games.  I think they're going to be better than you and your ilk are desperately hoping for, much to your chagrin no doubt.
