We still might not have blitzed as much as a lot of teams but we had probably the worst pass rushers in the league last year in the coaches defense. They weren't even good at blitzing. We blitzed MORE last year. Still not a lot. Earlier, the Jags faced a lot of offensive lines that were missing key starters. Blitzing works best in those cases, because trade-off blocking assignments have not been practiced between the remaining starters and the fill-ins. However, the Jags only upped their blitz percentage towards the end of the season after the opposing OLs had time to work together. And according to the Texans coaching staff, the Jags never blitzed on 3rd and more than 10 yards to go. Even Hodor should have figured out that that was a mistake. Once again, look at game six, three plays starting at 6:15 left in the 3rd quarter. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
