I'd be okay with Mettenberger in the 2nd. Not a huge fan of the total package but he does have the franchise caliber arm.

Mettenberger in the second is not a bad consolation if we miss out on the Teddy/Carr/(Bortles)=Cough=Manziel grouping. The fact that Mettenberger has gotten better as a pocket passer over the course of his career bodes well for his likelihood of being successful. His footwork and pocket presence have improved. Those are teachable things, and that would seem to imply that Mettenberger would get better with an offseason of coaching at the NFL level. Assuming his knee is healed enough by then, he could be just as pro-ready as Teddy.
