Bradley has to find a way to be 2-2 before the Bye

Quote:Wiz kept his job after muffing shotgun snaps in I think 3 consecutive weeks.  That's fun uncle stuff.  I remember being completely up in arms after the 2nd week it happened.

Bowanko was always there and played well his rookie year.  For Gus to have not made sure that the shotgun snapping situation was corrected after the 1st time it happened was concerning.  3 weeks in a row...  And yes, the perception that Gus is a "fun uncle" can easily be argued as factual and have real life examples to cite.

It's time for Gus to step up and be a real head coach.

You don't completely shuffle your offensive line mid-season because of a couple of muffed snaps (one of which arguably Bortles should have handled).  The fact that he wasn't retained after his 1 year show me deal is a good enough indication of where Gus felt he was in the pecking order for the team.

Bowanko played okay his rookie year, but he wasn't able to win a starting spot.  Wiz beat Bowanko out for the position after a pretty good competition.  Maybe Bowanko comes back and earns the spot now, but the team seems to think at this point that Linder is the best option.  So, if he couldn't beat out Wisniewski last year, and they're not talking about him as the starter in waiting at this point, you have to wonder why.

I don't think Gus is nearly the "fun uncle" some of you do.  I've spoken to people who have access to the behind the scenes interactions, and he's not this pushover that apparently some of you believe him to be.

Quote:I'm embarrassing myself? Goodness, you're the one that keeps saying Gus attracts players to the Jaguars, then in the next breath admitting that it's not the case at all. I know you're one that never let's go of a bone once you've made the mistake of biting into it, but maybe you should let this one go.

The Jaguars have had two major free agency splash signings during the Caldwell era, Julius Thomas and Malik Jackson, and both of them came for the money, though only Jackson was open enough to openly state it.

Actually, what I said is that the free agents and even many of the guys we've landed in the draft all wanted to play here after spending time with Gus.  Whether he was the motivating factor or not is irrelevant.  He certainly wasn't deterring them from signing with the Jags.

And yes, when you toss out examples that are completely irrelevant, that's embarrassing.  McCourty?  Cobb?  Neither was available to this team.  Why not say the team missed out on landing Tom Brady before he signed his last contract extension or something along those lines?  It's about as relevant.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
