But yes, they are paid in the form of a football scholarship, that is correct.

 

Our country has been built on being paid for the talents you possess, or the work you're willing to do. College athletes, football, basketball mainly, are not being compensated whatsoever for the amount of money that they are making for their school. The system that was built on the backs of these kids is broke. You have a few at the top raking in money off the backs of these kids. It is time to compensate them more for their talent and what they bring to their school. A large majority of these athletes wouldn't be given scholarships by the schools they attended if they were not athletes. They are brought in for a reason.

No one is forcing these kids to join a team, are they? The only reason they want to play college ball is because they all think they're good enough to go on to the next level...pro ball. Sad fact of life is, most are not. So get rid of college to the pros and have minor league teams like they do with baseball. Then they can get paid a salary and we won't have to hear about how awful these poor modern day slaves are being treated for only getting food, shelter and an education worth tens of thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars depending on the school.


Please excuse me while I go wipe away the tear forming in my eye as I think about these poor downtrodden souls. Forget the starving children in Africa...think of the athletes!!!
