I do hear what you're saying, though. I still see Blake as a young version of Ben Roethlisberger with a little Tony Romo savvy mixed in.

Agreed, I personally believe Caldwell decided on Blake for the security of having a big. tough QB who would have little down time from injuries... I mean talent wise, all the top QB's in that draft were remarkably close in their ability to lead an NFL offense, some play the game differently,.. but effectiveness produces wins and that's what matters.. I think Mariota is one of the most accurate passers in the NFL, maybe by a pretty big margin,... but I would be extremely worried about building a franchise offense around him due to the fact i don't think he's gonna be consistently on the field from injuries.... I know a great Oline can offset stuff like this but why try and solve a problem when there can be no problem...

 

I think Caldwell was seriously considering either Carr or Bortles and went with Blake for his size and physical reliability... under the Oline he knew he was gonna have... it was the only decision he could make..... If he drafted Carr with our Oline at the time he could have ruined his career..similar to Gabbert (Yes Carr is light years above Gabbert)

 

Both are going to be great, I love football so I like seeing players play at the highest level making plays even if they aren't the Jaguars. I'll enjoy watching the previous jokes of the NFL ( jags,raiders etc ) rip up the establishment.
