Basically the issues are this:

 

1. He wants 100% of his bonus up front now, the Chargers were willing to do 60%(newest offer was 85% this calendar year, and 15% in march 2017) this calendar year and the rest over the term of the deal. The other issue was an offset in language if he were cut. 

 

2. If Bosa were to be cut, he wants the contract to be guaranteed by San Diego fully and get paid by the next team signing him, rather than San Diego making up the difference on the next contract with another team. Lets say the Raiders sign him in 3 years after he is cut and he is owed 5 mil from SD in his last contract year, but Oakland pays him 3$ mil/year, San Diego would only pay 2$ mil instead of 5 mil+3mil from Oakland if they get their way(which I agree with, double dipping 2 full contracts=dumb for any team to accept, you are paying someone for nothing). 

 

Basically Bosa wants all of his money right now, San Diego wants to break it up... Bosa also wants to have no offset language if he were cut.. I think its a serious red flag for Bosa, who is already worrying about busting out of the league in his rookie contract, which is fully guaranteed anyway. I side with the Chargers on this one, an unproven rookie dropping demands on a team, is just silly to me.
