Khan and DC were CRYSTAL clear in their plan to build the hard way through the draft and Dave's comments about year three in subsequent interviews made it clear they were going to give Gus every chance to get it right with better talent.


You should have seen this coming if you were paying attention.

Yes. On the coaching end it is, and you can bet your bottom dollar Khan and Caldwell are keenly aware.

Absolutely.  In any rebuild, there will be parts that don't work out.  I'm extraordinarily pleased with the talent acquired on this team, particularly, as you point out, through the draft. I would have never dreamed we would have got Ramsey and Jack in the draft.  Replacing a head coach is a lot easier than having to replace the roster.  We have the roster.  And that should make any prospective coach very happy to work here.
