In general, the majority of Arlington and into the southside is high ground.  I know where we live, it's one of the highest points in the area.  In all of the evacuation maps, the entire area is white, meaning no evacuation.  My biggest concern about the storm is that we're in the middle of some of the most established tree canopy in the area. 

 

I'm looking out the window at a live oak that's probably about 80-90 feet tall, and another one 20 feet from that that's about 60 feet tall.  Both lean toward the house, and will have their back to the winds as the storm blows through this area.  We keep these trees trimmed and maintained, but with all of the rain we've had the past couple of days, the ground is saturated, and these monsters don't have a big root system, so needless to say we'll be staying out of that portion of the house until well after the storm clears.  We've already had one tree fall around the corner and that's the result of a nor'easter. 

 

It's moments like this where getting raked over the coals by my homeowners insurance carrier will potentially pay off.
