No. He wouldn't. He had Charlie Taafe at UCF and George O'Leary....they both cut down on the motion. However, they both put Bortles in an uptempo, shotgun, rollout pro style offense that played to Bortles strengths. This coaching staff is in 3rd and long nearly EVERY series. The WRs are getting zero separation and they have a league worst 3rd down % because they lead the NFL in 3rd down distance. It's common sense.


The Jags have the worst first down play calling in the NFL this year. They aren't even taking shots down the field. Bortles strength is rolling out and the deep ball. Where is the deep ball this year?


This is the worst coached NFL team I've ever seen. I honestly don't know how anyone could disagree.


Sure, Bortles can be elite. He could become an NFL backup. The NFL stands for "not for long". The problem is the Jags won't know how good Bortles, Allen Robinson, Hurns, Jack, Ramsey, or Telvin will EVER be without a competent coaching staff.
