Anti-Trump protesters line the streets in Chicago and New York

Quote:I'm only going to comment on this because I agree with the rest of your post...

I've heard many of the same fears in my circles. I'm typically the mediator in my peer group so I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to allay fears from people who are for whatever reason legitimately afraid of losing rights they currently have. I'm generally good at finding a silver lining when I look, but in this particular case I can't in good conscience offer any.

If (and this is a big, unknown if) Trump got a wire hair up his backside and decided to come for a women (reproductive rights/issues) and the LGBT community only the Supreme Court as it stands right now would be any sort of roadblock whatsoever as long as it happens before he starts appointing Justices. Having said that, I don't think either are even on his radar right now as he has much bigger fish to fry. But you know how people are...they are primarily focused on what affects them directly.

You come across as someone who's either fairy convinced these folks are overreacting and/or who has a better sense of what Trump wants to do than I do...so I'm sincerely asking what would you say to these people/groups to allay their fears?

Donald Trump rallied the republican national convention to stand up and protect the lgbtq community from violence and extremism. He said several times that gay marriage isn't something he supports but its already past the point of trying to overturn. A trump scotus appointee would focus on making sure the old lady doesn't have to bake the wedding cake.

As far as reproductive rights the guy said in his world u wouldn't need a prescription for bc. That made a lot of liberal women do a double take. He's not and the gop doesn't care about bc restrictions, they're just not going to force the nuns to include it in their health plan.

As far as him being pro life

A.) jane roe from roe v. Wade is pro life.

B.) as he explained in the third debate he supports a 10th amendment solution. Eliminate the holding requirement that all states allow it and let the states decide.
