As for Brock, They can free themselves after 2017. If Savage is the QB, carrying Brock's 16 million is no big deal (Savage makes $600,000 in 2017 then is a RFA and u can pay him after next year).
Both the Coach and GM signed off on Brock.....so it was not just Rick Smith. The owner wanted a "franchise QB" and Brock was really the only option since they couldn't move up in the draft. No one knew how good Dak would be....he went the 4th round....ironically, the same exact draft pick as Tom Savage in 2014 (plus...not every team has the Cowboys' Oline.) |
