I'm not going to waste time going clear back to the 1980's to dig up old stats. What I will say is that Bo Jackson was part of a team which went 11-1 and had 7 players from that team alone, who went on to have long term NFL careers. That's hardly carrying a team. He definitely had plenty of talent around him. As for Peterson, during his time in college the Sooners had 20 players drafted to the NFL. Eleven of who were selected in the first 3 rounds. That's hardly a team void of talent. Those guys definitely did NOT carry their teams on their back single handed. They had plenty of help.
