Hurns concerns me much more.

 

I'm not really worried at WR in general.  All it takes is for me to look back at what we had in the Garrard/Gabbert/Henne age to appreciate what we have now.  When a quarterback isn't playing well, wide receivers drop balls.  The added uncertainty and added element of surprise causes the drops.

 

But Hurns and ARob have regressed in other areas besides the drops.  Boselli was talking Monday about how ARob's having issues beating the jam at the line and his routes aren't as crisp.  My guess this has to do with how much damage their bodies are going through catching Bortles' passes this year.

 

It's like a feedback loop.  Bortles' play is causing the WRs to get beat up and regress.  And that regression is causing Bortles to regress.  And that regression is causing the WRs to drop balls.  And that causes Bortles' to lose confidence and the regression continues.  And so on....

 

To me, it's all his mechanics.  Bortles accuracy is better with better mechanics.  And though some of Bortles' decision making may be questionable, fixing his accuracy would solve a majority of his problems.
