There have been players who have made the move from college LB to NFL strong safety, most notably Pittsburgh's Carnell Lake (who interestingly later made the switch from S to CB) and Dallas' Darren Woodson.


I think I'd want him in at MLB if we remain in a 4-3, and if we switch to a 3-4, I'd want him at SS.


By putting him at MLB in a 4-3, he would be protected by two DTs, allowing him to utilize his speed from sideline to sideline. He would be an asset in zone or man coverage and make our underneath defense much faster. However he would not have the protection in a 3-4,and would have to take on guards which would minimize his effectiveness.

This is sort of how I see it. If we go to a 3-4 we could sort of copy the mold Arizona did with Telvin playing the Deon Buchanan role and then move Jack to SS. Let's say we go J.Allen in the first and a pass rusher in the 2nd (D.Walker?).
