If given the choice though, my preference would be for San Diego to keep the Chargers nickname, team colors, history, and everything else related. Much like Cleveland had the opportunity to do so when the Browns moved to Baltimore. Then if San Diego gets another team, they would have the option of continuing the Chargers tradition. I would like to see be the case with any area that loses a team.
