***Official 2017 Reese's Senior Bowl Game Thread***
|
I was especially impressed with the pass rushers in this game, both the DE's and the OLB's. A few guys like Jordan Willis, Derek Rivers, Hassan Reddick, Tyus Bowser, Vince Biegel and Tarrell Basham really improved their draft stock and made a lot of money. It seems like they all were harassing QB's all day long.
A few of the pass catchers stood out as well. O.J. Howard obviously looked great, but so did fellow TE Evan Engram. Zay Jones had an excellent day and showed a tremendous catch radius. He should've had two receiving TD's, but neither counted. One was waived off via a bad call and the other by a penalty. He impressed me a ton. I also really liked Fred Ross as well. He showed really nice hands. I saw hard running from Kareem Hunt and Matthew Dayes. I know Dayes had a fumble, but he showed some really elusive moves and good vision as well. Donnel Pumphrey was a much harder runner than I gave him credit for despite his tiny size, but he is still nothing more than a scatback. He should get drafted though. Although no QB really impressed me, Davis Webb was by far the best and should get a look from teams in that 3rd round range. Peterman was a runner up and will probably fall into the 4-5th round range. Obi Melifonwu was all over the field, making plays. I like that kid a lot. His size, range and motor might push him as high as the 2nd or 3rd round. Lorenzo Jerome opened some eyes as well. He went from an UDFA to a guy who should get selected in that 6-7th round range. Other guys didn't fare so well, particulariy the O-Linemen. Adam Bisnowaty opened some holes in the run game, but was absolutely miserable in pass protection. He was beaten like a drum by speed rushers off the edge, the entire game. He has to move inside to OG, where he won't give up so much space. Connor McDermott and Justin Senior had similar problems. McDermott has no business playing LT. He needs to move to RT, because he lacks the footwork to play LT and Senior needs to kick inside to OG as well. Rayshawn Jenkins is an awful tackler. He made some very bad whiffs in the game where guys ran right through his tackles. |
