J.J. Watt interview

#33

Quote:That's not factually wrong. I've seen this floated around here before. In 2014 he had 10.0 sacks out of his 20.5 that came from 4 games. So, what's your point? He's still a 10.0+ sack guy even without this weak division which is what I said from the giddy up. If he's even half of who is he is he's technically looking at 10.0 sacks instead of 20.0

Now, in 2015. He managed 17.5 sacks. Between us and the tacks he managed 6.5 sacks. Guess what? He's STILL over 10.0+ sacks without this weak division. Also, he was completely kept in check and didn't register a sack at all against us at home that year.

He still commands double teams as well. Somehow it's less impressive that he DOES HIS JOB? Isn't that what he's paid to do? To wreck lesser competition? Stupid argument. You really are seldom right.

In a pass happy era he's a modern day Bruce Smith / Reggie White. Don't know why people can't accept that. So, he's somehow not worthy of being a 3x Defender of the year because he can't help the fact that his division sucks?

LOL.

Stupid logic is stupid. Should we cheapen Peyton Manning's legacy for playing in a putrid division for 12 - 13 years? Should we cheapen Tom Brady's accomplishments for playing in a weak AFC East throughout the majority of his career?

Should we cheapen Emmitt Smith's HoF career because he decided to run the football 600 more times than guys like Walter Payton to barely squeeze him out of the #1 rushing spot?

He's been a great player, just not the generational talent some think he is.

Comparing him to Reggie White is a joke, he spent most of his career making his stats against the strongest division football ever saw, not the weakest it ever saw, like Watt.

As for the others, Manning's stats are cheapened by his competition, Brady had five super bowl championships, suggesting his accomplishments are cheapened is idiotic. He made the AFC East look bad, not them making him look good. Emmett Smith doesn't need cheapening, he got his stats for years against the best division in football ever.

Clearly you don't even have a decent grasp of the history of the game if you think you can compare what Watt has faced to what Reggie White faced.
