Not every pick will work out, even with good coaching. But in this case none improved and some (
Greene, Sanders, Cann and Colvin) who showed promise as rookies faded. It wasn't ALL Gus, but his culture had a lot to do with it.

 

Unlike Shack or Gene, there were no draft picks that jumped out as reaches at the time, and Colvin, Telvin, Greene, Bennett, Jack, and Day were considered steals.
