Look, I've admittedly been all in from the start, and youve advised us against being so pro-Coughlin before we see how he runs things. While I think that's smart, I'd also recommend against lumping Tom Coughlin in the same category as Dave Caldwell and Gene Smith, whom I assume you're referencing with the "in I trust" statement. However;


In the Coughlin press conference thread, I made the comment (and to be honest, I was kinda serious) "when Tom speaks, you listen." You (wisely imo) told me to curb my enthusiasm, and to not base it solely on the individual running the show. I didn't get the chance to respond; I was 11 or so years old when it was Tom's town in 99, and I looked up to Tom as a football God, even as a youngster. At the time, I was too naive to realize Tom's in abilities as far as GM responsibilities are concerned. Not necessarily calling you old, but you were around and knew what was going on when Tom was blowing cash on FA's and busting on 1st round picks. In that light, I totally understand your want to wait and see before you crown Tom as Jaguar football God like Khan has seemed to do.


At the same time, I can't help but look at my 2 towels posted on my room in my mom's old house since 99 that say "you're the 12th man, be loud and proud -Tom Coughlin"....and not get absolute goose bumps at thinking about how awesome it would be if Tom Coughlin could return this clown show to the Tom Coughlin days of the 90s.


Hey, I'll admit it, I bought into both Gene Smith and Dave Caldwell 1000%, and I was wrong. I'm still 1000% comfortable and happy blindly buying into everything Tom Coughlin, and damn me if I'm wrong again. Idc, I'm stoked on Tom. I think he's on a mission, Jaguars luck be damned.
