We have a QB who even during his franchise record breaking 2015 season where he did some great things still made the same mistakes then that we saw last year and single handedly cost us several games in both 2015 and 2016.  Many have been willfully ignorant about 2015, but the writing for 2016 was on the wall if you cared to examine his performance objectively (i.e. temper your irrational exuberance).  He essentially took 2016 off and went through the motions on game day and then threw his coaches who were no longer here under the bus after the season was over.  

 

Very little about him suggests he's a leader of men and that is usually a problem when it comes to QBs.  Several of you are willing to bend over backwards to refuse to believe what your senses should be telling you just because dude is wearing a Jags uni.  I'm not trying to kill optimism regarding him or the team and this post isn't targeted at those who are merely optimistic as I myself am somewhat optimistic about this season, but some of you act like you're relatives of his or part of his circle of friends with how fervently you defend him.

 

Does that one throw look good?  Yeah.  Do I hope he plays better in 2017?  You bet.  Will I be rooting for him on game day in 2017?  Absolutely.  But let's be honest here: it's ONE throw in shorts in perfect conditions with no pass rush.  That scenario won't happen much if at all during the season.  

 

Some of you are kidding yourselves and doing intellectual pretzels to provide excuses for him.  It's why the rest of us are picturing this guy with this exact expression at the keyboard behind your posts.
