Reading the Trade Down Tea Leaves
|
Quote:Question: Suppose, as is seemingly the case every year (and certainly last year) as the draft approaches, QB desperate teams decide they want to move up to get their player. Numbers in parentheses represent trade value for pick. My wife likes to watch House Hunters on HGTV. So I have to watch that all the time. So I will do like they do, and start by eliminating one of these 3 choices. First, I eliminate the trade with the Bills. I don't want next year's pick, I want something this year. So that leaves the Jets and the Browns. I agree with Jags02 that at #6, we are still likely to get either Allen or Fournette. I also think a CB would be worth taking there. So I would do the trade with the Jets. Of course, I would want to wait until we are on the clock and know who the first 3 picks are. If they wanted to do this in advance of the draft, I would have to think about that. |
