If Solomon Thomas is off the board...

Quote:What about teams like Arizona, Washington (who I have taking a QB, because I doubt Cousins signs a new deal with them and they cannot Franchise him anymore), Cleveland, New Orleans, Buffalo (they show little to no confidence in Tyrod Taylor), Houston, Kansas City or even Pittsburgh as Ben Roethlisberger as been contemplating retirement? It also would not surprise me if the Chargers were looking for a new QB as well. Rivers is older, has made hints about an impending retirement and has openly said he wasn't thrilled about moving to L.A. All of these teams could be looking for an immediate starting QB, an upgrade at QB or someone to eventually replace their current starting QB. Heck, there should be at least a couple of teams salivating at the chance to get one of the DB's or even Fournette as well. I still am very hopeful we will get several offers for the #4 pick.
I discussed this in more depth in a different thread, but let me give the Cliff's notes version....

I see Arizona ending up with Kizer.  He represents the big strong armed prototypical QB that Arians has historically worked with.  He even brought in Leftwich to be QB coach, and Leftwich was the big, strong armed guy in that mold.  Washington needs a long term answer whether it is Cousins or someone else.  But as it stands now, they have Cousins and their pick is too low to trade up to us without giving up a truckload.  If they trade Cousins, presumably to SF, they would definitely be in the market for a QB, but they'd presumably pick two spots ahead of us and there would be no need for them to trade up with their original first round pick.  Clevelandmight be one of those teams who might deal up, and they have the ammunition to do it, and they are not too low for us to deal down IMO.  However, SF aside, the one team in the top ten they need to move ahead of to guarantee a QB would seem to be the Jets at 6, and they can deal with Tennessee at 5 to move ahead of them.  New Orleans could use a QB to groom to replace Brees,  But Payton has also been clear throughout the offseason he needs pass rushers, and the Saints two picks in the first round are ideally placed to land one of the edge rushers.  Buffalo just signed Taylor to a new deal.  While neither his new deal nor his prior performance is an absolute bar to the Bills being in the market for a QB, I am not inclined to put the Bills in the "most desperate" category.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
